The PAI Group attended this year's historic PLASA exhibition, as the London based trade show bid farewell to the Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

The PAI Group was thrilled to have attended the historic PLASA 2012 show last week at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London.

The trade show, held annually since 1977 when it launched as Discotek 77 at Bloomsbury Crest in the capital, drew a record crowd in its final year at the SW5 venue.

In attendance were Group Managing Director, Paul Adams, Technical Director Andy Bonehill and Operations Director of Lighting Technology Projects, Keith Elms.

Paul Adams, who chaired PLASA between 1995-2001, explained how his enjoyment of the event was tinged with a degree of poignancy, as he reflected on what was his 34th PLASA show.

“I have a strong affiliation with Earls Court 1 and 2, and there is sadness in the knowledge that it will be the last show there - it was an iconic landmark.

“It is amazing to think that it was my 34th exhibition, marking 34 years of watching the industry evolve and change.

“It started as simply a small industry exhibition at first at Bloomsbury hotel and has grown and grown.”

PLASA London will take place at ExCeL London for the first time from 6-9 October 2013.
