Vaughan Sound has delivered a state-of-the-art Marketing Suite for the Swansea Bay City Region.
Officially launched by Sir Terry Matthews, Chair of the Swansea Bay City Region Board and Edwina Hart, Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, the Marketing Suite will be a key asset in driving visitors and investment to the area.
Based within the Great Hall at Swansea University’s new £450 million science and innovation Bay Campus on the city’s waterfront, the Marketing Suite required an array of cutting edge audio-visual technology to showcase the region and all that it has to offer.
Following a competitive tender process, Vaughan Sound was appointed as the specialist AV integrator responsible for turning grand visions for the space into reality. The focal point is a 3x3 video wall, made up of nine 55” ultra slim NEC X554-UNV monitors with 3.5mm bezels. Delivering 4K content, including the latest 3D virtual mapping software, the LED backlit displays provide attention grabbing high brightness and superb image detail.
For control a Creston Pro3 system has been installed, with all AV elements in the room managed intuitively via an iPad interface featuring an iOS app and custom GUI. A wePresent WiPG-2000 provides cross-platform interactive wireless presentation for up to 64 users, along with PoE, video streaming and iOS mirroring. In addition, a Polycom SoundStructure C12 delivers high-performance video and voice conferencing capabilities, allowing users of the Marketing Suite to communicate efficiently with remote delegates.
Audio reinforcement is delivered through a Denon DN-500AV 7.1 Surround Sound Processor coupled with Peavey powered cabinets on flying assemblies and a sub bass loudspeaker. Meanwhile, a Revolabs Executive HD™ MaxSecure 8 Channel wireless microphone system offers the perfect solution for an environment which requires high security encryption of the audio signal.
“The high tech fitting out of the Marketing Suite will combine to create a real impact on visitors about our innovation, confidence and ambition as a region. Because this is a digital suite we can also use the power of networks to quite literally take our message to all parts of the region, Wales and the world. I would encourage public and private sector organisations across the region and beyond to use this facility and to explore its creative and technical capabilities.” – Sir Terry Matthews
