Arad Goch, established in 1989, specialises in performing for children and young people in mid and south west Wales. It tours mid and south west Wales mainly, but also stages productions in other areas of the country
and overseas.
In 2005 it received £1.8m from the Arts Council for Wales, nearly £575,000 of European Objective 1 money and £50,000 from Aberystwyth Town Council. A new studio has been built and a neighbouring building has been bought and converted to create more space.
Vaughan Sound Installations provided the Stage Lighting, Sound,
Audio-Visual and Drapes for the project to both Rehearsal Studio
and Performance Space.
Additionally, information display screens were installed to the reception area, one of which faces out onto the public road, enabling passersby to sample some of the up and coming productions. These screens were centrally controlled by an AMX control unit, powering the screens independently and selecting from the fully loaded digital and analogue inputs.
A spokeswoman for Arad Goch said: "Arad Goch finally opens its doors to the public again. "It's been a long time coming - it's over two years since Arad Goch moved out of its Bath Street premises so that the building could be completely renovated. "Now with added space (having also bought the Manse next door) the theatre company has a superb new home.
Vaughan Sound Installations were also praised for their contribution to the project by the Design Consultant, Chris Baldwin of ACT.
